I recompiled the cpu plugin with 4.8.0 installed, and it works fine,
except that I can't right click, eg. to go to the properties window.

Other panel items work normally.

You can't click on the graph themselves, you have to click on the space
on the side.

Maybe this is a feature request because clicking on the graph worked in xfce 4.6.

Hallo Konrad.

I hadn;t even noticed that you could click on the space - I have the label switched off and there are only a couple of pixels' worth of space to click on.
This is very unpractical...

So yes, I would like very much to suggest to include the area of the graph to be clickable!

Actually, it's the same (unpractical) behaviour for many applets. I'm seeing this in system load manager, network and timer plugin where all bars have no conext menu. I don't remember exactly but my guess is that this is a regression.
It's not always easy to grab the few pixels surrounding the bar..

I do the following:
1. Open a Place like "Desktop"
2. RightClick to create a new File
3. RightClick go to Create Documents.
AAAAND?
Ubuntu 11.04 craches.
WHAT? Craches?
Yes it craches. let us say, this is microsoft Windows 98 Bug ;-/

Thank you for the update to 11.04.

Best Regards.

It not only seems unpractical not to be able to right click on the applet. The cpu graph applet also offers the option to avoid having space around it. If you activate this option you can never again get the context menu for it.
Where actually could I reset this option? I don't have xfce inside knowledge. Are there config files for it somewhere?

Thanks, Regards, Frank

I cant reproduce this issue with panel 4.9 and plugin from current git.
Comment 8 Sebastian Krämer 2012-05-15 09:22:58 CEST
I'm still seeing it with 4.10, tried with xfce4-timer and network monitor plugins. Right-clicking the bars won't show any menu.
Comment 9 Sebastian Krämer 2012-05-15 09:24:05 CEST
Sorry, I forgot that this is about the cpugraph-plugin. That one indeed works.
Comment 10 relgames 2012-05-15 15:29:40 CEST
Issue is still here with xfce 4.10 (xfce4-cpugraph-plugin 1.0.1-2+ppa1)
Comment 11 Landry Breuil editbugs 2012-05-16 13:19:53 CEST
Can you retry with 1.0.2 ? Again, WORKSFORME here.
Comment 12 Landry Breuil editbugs 2012-05-16 20:58:59 CEST
Okay, i finally saw it again on a new instance of the plugin. Will dig into it.
Comment 13 Landry Breuil editbugs 2012-05-16 21:27:23 CEST
It seems making the eventbox invisible in bug #8893 made that issue reappear, and setting the box & draw_area as action_wdigets for the panel doesnt fix it. If i revert the commit from #8893 the graph is right-clickable again.
Comment 14 Landry Breuil editbugs 2012-05-16 21:54:54 CEST
setting the eventbox above its childs in commit d2db8a6 seems to fix it here.
