On Arch I've noticed several weird bugs. First, when I disable notification area border than the whole notification area becomes invisible. Second, sometimes icons in notification area are shaking and seems really weird. Third, I had trouble launching several apps, including truecrypt.

Also, I didn't find the notification area plugin here so I'm posting on this one, hope that is ok.

I probably won't have time to solve that quickly.
But I'm always open for patches.

Sorry, I couldn't reply much earlier. You mean XFCE version? It is 4.8, now running on Arch. I can confirm this running on a completely different machine using Arch (Dell XPS). I don't know how to reproduce this behavior. I think on both machines I was running gnome power manager, wicd, keepassx and dropbox.

I've tested it on OpenSUSE as well. Icons start shaking after I set their maximum size via notification area properties equal or bigger than the panel size (which is 24).
