Strace of Terminal when trying to open a URL

Been using Terminal 0.4.5 for quite some time now and opening a URL within a Terminal window has worked without issue up until exo version 0.6.0

Opening a URL <= exo 0.3.107 has worked regardless of using middle mouse button and 'right click > open link'

Today...
1. Upgraded exo (0.3.107-2 -> 0.6.0-2)

2. Within Terminal, I was able to do the following to successfully open a URL:
crt@netbook ~ $ exo-open --launch WebBrowser google.com
crt@netbook ~ $ Error: Failed to send command: 500 command not parseable

Although there was an Error on standard output, the URL will still open. Likewise, issuing 'xfbrowser4' will open a blank browser window successfully, yet give the same Error as above.

This leads me to conclude that the major version jump with exo from 0.3.107 to 0.6.0 is the main cause of this bug. Please let me know if there is additional information needed.

So you mean "google.com" is not matched as an urls anymore?
Comment 2 Tony 2011-01-30 22:02:04 CET
I am not sure how this happened, but it appears that Terminal now opens URLs correctly. A URL like google.com will not open, but www.google.com and http://google.com will open. The odd thing is the version of exo and Terminal are still the *same* from the time this bug report was filed. At that time, middle clicking a URL in Terminal failed to open with the message in my first post. I did update some Xfce 4.8 packages but they were mainly plugins for Xfce, nothing relevant I can see related to the URL issue experienced.

But to answer your question, URL like google.com is not matched, but the other two examples I gave are matched still. I presume this is normal behaviour, or not?

Apologies, but I wanted to add that I am referring to middle clicking URLs with a mouse. Doing 'exo-open google.com' is matched and successfully opens that URL.

that google.com is not match is indeed normal behaviour.
