After inserting a CD in the drive, the volume icon appears on the desktop. If unmounted, right clicking shows the options "Mount Volume" and "Eject Volume", which is perfectly ok. However if mounted, right clicking only shows the option "Eject Volume", but "Unmount Volume" is missing. (Yes, I have read Bug 5343 <http://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5343> and I see, this behavior was introduced indentionally....) Please reconsider this design decision, because "Unmount Volume" is often really needed, as in the case of external DVD-RAM drives and other magneto-optical writeable external drives (USB, IEEE 1394, eSATA, etc.). I really am used to unmount every removable drive, when not using it for some time, so that no bad things can happen, if I am in a hurry and unplug the device inadvertently. Sometimes it is also very inconvenient to eject the disk if I just want to unmount it until later, since "Eject Volume" is a non reversible action on any slim-line drive and needs manual intervention to close the tray. It would be great to have the options "Mount" and "Unmount" as on every removable volume, and "Eject" added as a second option if the volume is also ejectable. TIA Slack
The unmount option was added in commit: http://git.xfce.org/xfce/xfdesktop/commit/?id=cad4ea4b789c4f67a666640d333bc6120ee4d5d5 Which will be available in the next stable release.
