Hi, Every once in a while my RAM usage goes insanely high, like 97% (of my 2GiB) and the culprit is /usr/lib/tumbler-1/tumblerd eating almost all of it. I have always a Thunar window open in one of my virtual desktops, but (obviously) closing it doesn't help since tumblerd is a daemon. Somebody posted about the same problem in the forums [0] and attached some logs as well. I am running xfce-base/thunar-1.1.5 and xfce-extra/tumbler-0.1.5 on Gentoo with kernel 2.6.36-gentoo-r4. Let me know what other information you need. [0] http://forum.xfce.org/viewtopic.php?id=5588
Hi, I have the same issue. The bug especially appears in the directories with not successfully loaded from torrents video files. My system is gentoo, kernel 2.6.37-rc4, thunar-1.1.5, tumbler-0.1.5.

Same problem, gentoo as well 2.6.34-gentoo-r12 If tumblerd has trouble it seems to load the entire file into memory, then says `Could not find stream information` It can still make thumbnails from other files without increasing its size in memory, but will not release the memory from the failed file unless it is killed.
This seems to be a bug in ffmpegthumbnailer. I forwarded this to their issue tracker: http://code.google.com/p/ffmpegthumbnailer/issues/detail?id=74
Moving to tumbler.
It has been fixed in ffmpegthumbnailer. Can anyone of you build it from SVN and tell me if it's better now? I think I don't have any video files that trigger this behavior. The SVN repository is available on http://ffmpegthumbnailer.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/
I compiled ffmpegthumbnailer from svn and it works better, it will release the memory when it can't make a thumbnail
Thanks for testing. Watch out for ffmpegthumbnailer 2.0.6 which I think will be released soon. Closing this bug as it is not an issue in tumbler.
