I can't login to the xfce 4.8pre1. My .xsession-errors states the following several times:

libexo-1.so.0: cannot open shared object file: no such file or directory
Failed to load module: /usr/lib/gio/modules/libexo-module-1.so

under /usr/lib/gio/modules/
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 23363 2010-11-09 16:20 libexo-module-1.so

under /usr/local/lib/
libexo-1.so -> libexo-1.so.0.0.0
libexo-1.so.0 -> libexo-1.so.0.0.0
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 915006 2010-11-09 16:20 libexo-1.so.0.0.0

I'm not sure what else is needed. I'll get you anything else that is needed.

Glib version?
Comment 2 cliff_badger 2010-11-16 17:14:30 CET
libglib2.0-0   : ver. 2.24.1-0ubuntu1
libglib2.0-dev : ver. 2.24.2-0ubuntu1

This can probably be downgraded... I've duplicated this through both Ubuntu 10.04 and 10.10.

I think it's coming down to missing a package that I haven't installed. I'm not sure exactly what I'm missing.

The packages I'm pre-installing are:
intltool
libglib2.0-dev
libgtk2.0-dev
libglade2-dev
libgladeui-1-dev
libdbus-1-dev
libdbus-glib-1-dev
libwnck-dev

Never heard anyone complain about this, probably something wrong on your system.
