I believe it was .mpeg.  It could have also been .avi or .mp4.  I can't quite
remember.

I suspect it's not so much the file as it is the codec.  My guess is that it
isn't gracefully handling the situation where it doesn't have the codec.

Since this bugreport is rather old and we're using playbin2 now, could you try to reproduce this with git-master please?
