Created attachment 3161 ScreenShooter on Panel I attempted to use a panel launcher for ScreenShooter, but the icon is not available in the icon listings. Interestingly enough, the ScreenShot program in the Accessories menu has one. It is weird when ScreenShot has one but ScreenShoote doesn't when they are such similar programs. I'm using Arch Linux with Xfce4.6.2.

Thank you for your bug report. I can't reproduce this here, it works fine with the 4.7.x panel. This is not a Xfce4 Screenshooter bug, so I'll reassign it to the panel. But it is likely to be marked as fixed in 4.7. I don't remember how the 4.6 interface is, but I'm pretty sure that you can select an icon using its path, that could do the trick. Or use the Xfce4 Screenshooter panel plugin.
No, that's not correct. I guess the bottom line is that there is no workaround. If the user can't find the correct icon from the given list, then they have no other place to look. There are no directions to find a given icon's path. Worse, there is the confusion illustrated by the examples given which clearly show that there is no ScreenShooter program. The environment comes with a program call ScreenShot. Further, there is no panel addon for that. I would be glad to use the newer version of the DE, but it is not yet available to me. Has it been release as a final version?
The name is applets-screenshooter and i think the gnome-icon-theme package supplies it FYI.
If I understand correctly, you and Sam are the creators of the program as is implied in the documentation? I like the name ScreenShooter better than ScreenShot for this exceptionally fine application. I find it to be one of the best for what it does. Some programs which are making claims that they do everything for screen capture, really don't. Not only that, but they don't have the intuitive design that must be there to be useful to the user. In any case, as I understand you, your icon was placed into the group of Gnome icons. I will look for it there (if I can find that group). Thanks much.
