When you restart xfce4-panel (which has systray plugin enabled), you lose
systray icon.

olivier, benny: either of you have any idea about this one?  i'm using
NetkTrayIcon, and from a quick look at the code, it looks like it should watch
for they systray disappearing and appearing and automatically hide and redock it
as needed.  or am i misunderstanding something?

Brian, I don't remember exactly, but there was a problem with XEmbed (actually
GtkPlug/GtkSocket). Thats why e.g. xfcalendar uses a wrapper around NetkTrayIcon
(XfceTrayIcon), which automatically reconnects to the systray. I suggest you
have a look at the xfcalendar source.
