Hey,

I'm using the clipman actions to easily open bugs and stuff like that. When I select a matching pattern, the popup asks me about what I want, but a bit surprisingly, it does so *also* when selecting something else (basically when the clipboard is cleared, I guess).

It's not really consistent wrt. user experience, so if there was a way to fix that I guess it'd be nice :)

Cheers,

Hi Yves-Alexis,

Mhmmh, I noticed this a long time ago and I still do :)

There are two cases where the double popup is triggerred.

It happens when you select the text (default action in order to popup the menu), then if you copy the text it happens again. This should be avoided by using a timer, e.g. if you selected the text and didn't start an action, then quickly after copy the text, you don't actually want the action to popup again.

The second, the one you describe happens exactly when the application is closed, and the clipboard content is restored by the clipboard manager, at this point it sends an event yelling the default clipboard was changed. Tricky.

Cheers
Mike

I have made a change, now the actions menu is popup only once as long as the text in the selection doesn't change.

This means if you select the exact same text twice, the second time you wouldn't get a menu at all, I'm fine with that since it's the simplest solution.
