Orage should not use the deprecated GtkTooltips anymore and use the current GtkTooltip API. It should also allow for Pango markup in the tooltip format string.
Yes, I did that for the icon already some time ago. And it looks great. Will do asap (but I have limited time for Orage at the moment).
(In reply to comment #1) > Yes, I did that for the icon already some time ago. And it looks great. Will do > asap (but I have limited time for Orage at the moment). You wouldn’t have a little screenshot lying around somewhere, would you? ;-) And will the use of Pango formatting be fixed or configurable?
Actually this is not visible to end user and as Orage 4.8 will be Xfce 2.6 compatible and that demands Gtk+ 2.10 compatibility, it is too early now to get rid of the old tooltips. That can be done after Orage 4.8 as then we can drop Gtk+ 2.10 compatibility. Xfce 4.8 will need Gtk+ 2.14. So I will postpone this fix.
4.10 features GTK+ dependency >= 2.20 and GLib >= 2.24. So I guess this bug can now be reassessed.
Implemented in 4.9.4.2 Tooltips are not configurable though as that would need huge editor to maintain them. And Panho markup is used seldomly.
Fixed in 4.10.0
