Could you try to reproduce it with current git master? (I tried and it works for me.)

I would but, I don't have any i686 systems, anymore.  However, I did check Fedora RPM parole.x86_64 0:0.2.0.2-6.fc15, and it doesn't have this problem.  That makes me think it was a problem with the pakage.  Sorry for the trouble.
