'twould be cool if you could run, say, 'xfce4-session-save', and the running instance of xfce4-session would save the current session without actually logging out. IIRC, gnome can (or used to) do this, with gnome-session-save. i know i've used it on occasion; seeing as my end-of-session state isn't necessarily how i always want to start up a new session (actually, it's rarely the case that i log out with the exact state i want when i come back). granted, it's also rare that i ever log out period, but that's besides the point. i've just started noticing it now that i'm not using my laptop full-time anymore, and i tend to turn it on and off relatively often.
This is indeed an interesting option... Benny?
I would also appreciate this feature. It'd be handy when I change settings of session to make me sure it is saved when xfce-session is ended in some unclear way - for example power supply outage or so..
I guess I implemented this...
