The old fat tarballs contained only folders (ie. the extracted individual tarballs), I think that is more useful.
Can you take a look at this Jannis? Shouldn't be that complicated to extract the files before compressing them again in the fat tarball. (and don't include the individual md5 and sha1 sums).
