I'm not sure I have this in the right section, but it is the closest thing I could find.

I have a Kodak C913 digital camera that will not connect to my XFCE computer. I run Linux Mint 8 on XFCE, and I have also run Mint 7. When I plug the camera's USB cable into my computer, it does not come up and it does not appear in any window.

I have had no problem with the camera on other operating systems, including Linux Mint 8 main edition, with Gnome. I have used the camera also in PCLinuxOS, Fedora, Mandriva, OpenSUSe, etc, all running on either Gnome or KDE. That makes me pretty sure it is XFCE that is the problem with the camera.

It is not a big deal, since I currently have one computer running on Gnome. But it would be nice if the camera worked in XFCE distributions. It might be something you want to look at.

Your camera appears on the desktop or in your file manager. Make sure you activated the Thunar Volume Manager in Thunar's settings and in the volume monitoring settings within the settings manager dialog.
