As the summary suggests, remove the "Save session" from the logout menu. This pretty much confuses users and causes troubles with session. This is especially true when a user logs out (saves session) in panic just after his panel has crashed, since the panel is not run when the user logs back in. This is a wishlistish item which I file after a discussion with Jerome. More discussion to follow on the Xfce developers mailing list in the thread I'm starting in a few minutes.
Reassign to xfce-bugs@xfce.org.
The mailing list thread about this feature request seems to be this one: http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.comp.desktop.xfce.devel.version4/18693 It is my understanding that now, the panel is automatically restarted after a crash; so the main motivation for this feature request is gone...? Personally, I'm not using the "Save session" feature (I don't want stuff to load automatically when I'm trying to fix my system or just want to use a single program quickly or my download disk isn't plugged in or I don't want to chat on Jabber...). I don't care if there's a "Save session" checkbox in the logout panel, but I think it should be off by default (especially if it is removed from the logout panel).
I agree that the motivation behind the request seems gone. Also, that checkbox is deactivated by default. If the user has activated it by chance, he/she will notice it anyway because of all kinds of programs autostarting in the next session...
