I'd like to have a preference for disabling xterm mousewheel scrolling. I do not mean the Terminal scrollbar, but rather what one sees when one scrolls the mousewheel in an application like vim or mutt--the cursor moves accordingly. I'm fine with implementing it myself, but don't know how to go about doing so. VTE doesn't expose API for this, so I'm not sure where to begin.

I've done some digging and have located the code in VTE that I need to change in order to implement this. This bug should be stalled pending the resolution of the one I filed over at GNOME's BZ against VTE: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=612897
