I have the same problem, but my PC has a DVD drive and a CD drive and I'm not sure which one is causing the problem. I'll be happy to provide any information, if someone can let me know what they need.I'm running Arch Linux on a 32-bit box and version 0.4.3-1 Cheers, Chris.

I got the following from dmesg: scsi 1:0:0:0: CD-ROM PLEXTOR DVDR PX-708A 1.03 PQ: 0 ANSI: 5 scsi 1:0:1:0: CD-ROM TSSTcorp CD-R/RW TS-H292A TS00 PQ: 0 ANSI: 5
I encountered the error and I'm pretty sure that it's only problematic because the dvd got auto mounted on insertion. It causes the burner to be "busy". I had to manually unmount the dvd(rw) on console. Maybe it would be useful if xfburn tried to unmount the dvd by itself?

I don't think this is the case as I noticed this error even though I do not use automounting and don't have Thunar Volume Manager installed. What's more, it happens with a blank CD-RW medium in the drive, which cannot be mounted.

It does do that, but unfortunately 0.4.3 requires thunar-vfs for that which may not be present on your system anymore. The speed list error has nothing to do with mounting/unmounting though.
I removed the message box to report the missing speed list issue. I don't have time to coordinate with libburn on this, and it's not causing any major usability issues. If you're still interested in fixing this, please contact the libburnia project directly. I'll assist where I can.
