I'm not entirely certain that this is a bug in Xfce; unfortunately, I've found nothing even vaguely about this elsewhere, so I'm reporting it here. My apologies if this is not an Xfce bug. When running Windows applications with Wine, although they work correctly and can be alt-tabbed to, they do not show up in the Xfce taskbar. I'm using Xfce 4.0.6 from the Debian packages, and a Wine build from 20040914, also from Debian. This bug occurs whether the windows are handled by the window manager or not. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open Windows software in Wine. Actual Results: Applications work normally, except they do not appear in the taskbar. Expected Results: Applications should be selectable from the taskbar, like other software.
xfce 4.0.x is unlikely to get any more love, as 4.2.0 is just about ready. if possible, can you test this using 4.2rc3? if it still appears there, it's a problem that we should fix, but if not, 4.0.x is pretty much dead.
btw, you can use the debian packages at http://os-cillation.com/ if you'd like. there's also a GUI source-compile installer if you'd prefer to install it to a non-system location for testing.
Reporter, did you try with Xfce 4.2?
Unless someone can show otherwise, I'll consider this a bug in Wine. Thanks for reporting.
