Weather plugins [I tried all of them] does not detect the city. Not even the default "Tokyo" and nothing I tried works either.

I just read Jannis Pollamans blog that states XFCE is just a hobby, but the fact is that anything beyond what I've tried is way too much work and not serious end user will ever leave windows or mac for this app.

So far I have just clicked the gui buttons since I have no idea how to hack the plugin. So I just get a "No Data" Icon.

I did write a few messages to the development team, but I literally got a message back stating that "nobody cares".

Still, even though the developers don't care if the plugin works or not, I still think it needs fixed. Big time.

Perhaps there will be a new v. in 4.8 ?

The ipinfodb.com service stopped, we now host our own geoip service at archive.xfce.org/geolocation. Fixed in 2c17692.
