Also if I manualy write the right driver name into .config/xfmedia/settings.xml file, it doesn't work. So I always have to set it manualy when starting xfmedia.

Trying to start it with --audio-out specified, I reseived these messages:

(It doesn't crash, I'd closed it manualy. And the assertion had come on exit.)

Also, it didn't play with "--audio-out=alsa" and in this case I had to manualy change driver selection to "auto". But it doesn't play when started with "auto", and I have to change driver from "alsa" to "auto".
