You have a ridiculously broken install of pango/cairo/glib (one or all of those). This has nothing to do with xfce.

Then why does xfce work just fine on the console? The pango/cairo/glib was installed at the same time from blastwave, so yes it is a xfce error and an xfce problem.

BTW, If anyone knows of a better source for xfce binaries for SUN SPARC please let me know.

Ok, please READ the error messages you get. They have *nothing* to do with Xfce.

Perhaps you have a differently library search path from console. I really have no idea, but please figure out your system configuration issues on your own.

What do you mean it has *nothing* to do with Xfce. Because of this I cannot use Xfce, so it has *everything* to do with Xfce. Why are you so eager to pass the buck?

I did not install pango/cairo/glib separately. I most certainly did not *configure* them. They were installed along with Xfce. They are obviously used by Xfce.

If you don't know what the issue is between Xfce and pango/cairo/glib then can you point be to someone who can help me resolved the issue between the two. The last thing I need to do is be turned away from the Xfce group because its a pango/cairo/glib issue and turned away from the pango/cairo/glib group because its a Xfce issue.

If this matter was fixed in a latter version of Xfce can you tell me where I can get the updated binaries for Xfce for my SUN SPARC Workstation?

I logged in because I needed help not a flippant "please figure out your system configuration issues on your own". What kind of help is that?

Whatever you may believe is irrelevant. The _fact_ remains that your problem is with the lower-level gtk stack (glib/pango/cairo/gtk), which has nothing to do with Xfce. We don't ship it, we don't maintain it.

We don't build nor provide packages for Sun systems. I don't know where you got yours, but perhaps that would be the place to look for help.

Xfce Bugzilla isn't your personal help forum. It's a bug tracker for genuine issues related to Xfce, which your problem is not. Now, you can go hit up Google and try to find a forum more appropriate to your problem, or you can sit here and whine uselessly. Up to you.
