For some complex m$ .doc format documents I have to use the OpenOffice.
In other cases I prefer to use the GNOME Office.
For rtf --- AbiWord, for spreadsheets including .xls --- Gnumeric.

So, normally .xls are opened by Gnumeric (together with it the AbiWord is setting for opening .doc/.rtf).
When I want to open via Thunar the .doc-file with Open Office Write the OpenOffice Calc is silently setting for opening .xls-files (the thing I don't want).

It will be good to make Thunar be able to set the separate application of each of standard office formats (for example OO Writer for .doc, AbiWord for .rtf and Gnumeric for .xls).

Do you still encounter this in Thunar 1.1.x?

Excuse me, I've still couldn't make the proper check.

Another enchancement idea:
Use not only last 'extension', but... for example two of them.
I.e.:
For file.fb2.zip by default execute 'cr3 file.fb2.zip'
For others *.zip execute for example standard Xarchiver.

(I have no ideas about the best way to do it)

In Thunar 1.2.0 everything works fine:
I can the same time open xls-files with gnumeric, rtf with abiword, doc with OO Writer (and thinking abount the default application for odt-files).
