it seems xfce4-terminal 0.4.0-1 don't set tab titles anymore now new tab have "No title" instead "initial title" in preferences "dynamically-set title" is set to "isn't displayed" and worked fine in old releases (until 0.2.12-3) Debian GNU/Linux testing (squeeze) Linux 2.6.26-2-amd64 #1 SMP Sun Jun 21 04:47:08 UTC 2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux ii exo-utils 0.3.101-2 ii libatk1.0-0 1.26.0-1 ii libc6 2.9-12 ii libdbus-1-3 1.2.16-2 ii libdbus-glib-1-2 0.80-4 ii libexo-0.3-0 0.3.101-2 ii libglib2.0-0 2.20.1-2 ii libgtk2.0-0 2.16.1-2 ii libpango1.0-0 1.24.0-3+b1 ii libvte9 1:0.20.5-1 ii libx11-6 2:1.2.2-1 ii libxfce4util4 4.6.1-1 ii xfce4-goodies 4.4.2.2
That is on purpose. The dynamically-set title only applies to the window title, for tabs all the same names is pretty useless, and pre-pending for example "Terminal - " also makes no sense.

Well i can change the behavior to show the initial title in the tab if 'isn't diplayed' is selected, that's not a problem, but all the other 3 'dynamically-set title' options will result in only the vte, custom or "Untitled" titled in the tab.
I appreciate it so much, thanks :) cheers
