It would be nice to increase the history limit from 100 to 1024 and it would ever better if there was an option to show the history in reverse order (latest entry at the bottom)
Set the max history size to 1000 in revision 7855. There is a hidden setting for the reverse-menu-order as of bug #5502. It is currently in trunk. It will be available in next release, I still have to update the documentation.
