With XFCE 4.6.1 you are able to add extra keyboard layouts without having to use a plugin. But there is no option to change between the layouts using the keyboard. To do that you have to visit the XFCE keyboard setting and select the appropriate layout. It would be very handy if there was an option to switch between layouts simply by using the keyboard.
