Steps to reproduce: 1.) Open thunar and type the name of a file 2.) file gets marked 3.) press shortcut for "cut" (in my case ctrl + x) 4.) navigate to another directory 4.) press shortcut for "paste" (in my case ctrl + v) actual result: nothing happens expected result: file gets moved to new location reproducible: always
Works fine here. Please reopen if this is still an issue with the latest Thunar release.
Problem still persists. Mind that at the point where im pressing ctrl+x the input box on the lower right corner is still active. Tested it on 2 machines one with arch one with gentoo
Then of course its not working. Another "window" is visible. You either have to wait a couple of secs and it will automatically disappear or pres escape.
I don't agree with the "of course" part. Im using the search function to save time and not to wait a few seconds. If this should not be filed as a bug but instead as a feature request please tell me. A hint where I can find the relevant code part would be nice so I can throw together a patch if I find the time.
It is owned by Gtk or Exo, depending on the view.
The problem persists on Thunar 1.6.3. In this aspect, the behavior of Windows Explorer is ideal: you can type one (or a few) letters to select a file and cut/copy it immediately without additional clicks or waining for anything.
