Overview:
If run under xfce4-terminal some whitespaces are shown as solid blocks.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open xfce4-terminal
2. Start emacs (GNU Emacs 22.2.1)
3. Write some text

Actual results:
Some█text with whitespace.

Expected results:
Some text with whitespace.

Build Date & Platform:
Linux debian (Lenny) 2.6.26-2-686 #1 SMP Mon May 11 19:00:59 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux

Problem in VTE, see http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=514632. Closing this bug since it's not a problem in the terminal code, but the widget we use.
