Linux weirdo 2.6.9 #1 Tue Nov 23 16:03:23 WET 2004 i686 unknown unknown GNU/Linux I have Slackware-10, and I installed Slackware-10 package from xfce.org/downloads/ 'Binaries and contributed packages' section. Well, I changed my profile language to spanish "/etc/profile" adding that: export LANG=es_ES@euro export LC_CTYPE="es_ES@euro" export LC_NUMERIC="es_ES@euro" export LC_TIME="es_ES@euro" export LC_COLLATE="es_ES@euro" export LC_MONETARY="es_ES@euro" export LC_MESSAGES="es_ES@euro" export LC_PAPER="es_ES@euro" export LC_NAME="es_ES@euro" export LC_ADDRESS="es_ES@euro" export LC_TELEPHONE="es_ES@euro" export LC_MEASUREMENT="es_ES@euro" export LC_IDENTIFICATION="es_ES@euro" export LC_ALL=es_ES@euro and now my xfdesktop menu doesn't have KDE and Gnome tools like before, just haves: Run program..., Terminal, File browser, Internet Browser, Configuration, and Help. (in spanish of course)
jasper: <+benny> kelnos|work: add jasper to the bug <+benny> kelnos|work: he wrote that stuff i'm wondering if there's a problem with XfceDesktopEntry's handling of the translated entries in .desktop files. so, any ideas? reporter: can you kill xfdesktop, and then run it from a terminal and paste any output you get here?

No output messages when I run xfdesktop from a terminal. Here's a screenshot of my Xfce Desktop Menu: http://www.warlurdz.net/~ecstasy/emptymenu.png
Could it be it is now picking up the spanish default menu and that has not been updated to include the system menu? Najib, try editing the menu (menu editor is available from desktop settings dialog) and add a <system> type submenu.

Yeah Jasper, now I have the menu desktop complete with KDE tools etc...! but it's in english :/ now all the menu desktop it's en english... I don't know what it's happened, I'm still having the profile in spanish. Empty menu, but in spanish-> http://www.warlurdz.net/~ecstasy/emptymenu.png Full menu, in english-> http://www.warlurdz.net/~ecstasy/englishmenu.png
yep, looks like menu.xml.es hasn't been updated. if you don't mind, you could help out by taking the stock english menu.xml file from the root of the xfdesktop source tree, and translating it to spanish (copy it to menu.xml.es and translate that). if you can do this, it would be much appreciated; simply email the file to the xfce-i18n@xfce.org list when you're done.
