I'm using thunar in Ubuntu 810.
I've renamed to 'desktop' the folder 'area de trabalho',  at  ~/.config/user-dirs.dirs (my default language for ubuntu is pt-br  )
the Desktop link at thunar, bellow the 'user-home' and waste basket links, doesn't open the desktop folder.
