when i change my mixer from 0 (tv card) to 1 (sound card) i get back to the options and the change isn't saved
you mean the "Device" combo box in the xfce mcs settings for "Sound" should change the default sound device too ? might like that :) you are right that this doesnt work since it didnt occur to me to do it like that yet. Please confirm that that is the way you want it to behave.

Judging from the comments this is an enhancement request.
In the mean time you can call xfce4-mixer with the other device as command line argument. I shall look into doing the enhancement shortly though :)
