Hi, It is very important to have shutdown signals sent over the session bus when xfce4-session is doing suspend/hibernate/shutdown something like begin-session-shutdown and then end-session-shutdown, this will be very useful specially for a power manager to don't attempt to send shutdown requests (on lid close for example). please consider adding these signals.
You don't need this. Just connect to the session manager via XSMP and it will tell you when it's shutting down.

I think for hibernate and suspend xfce4-session should first try to ask the power manager to do it. That way it'll always know when it's gonna happen.
