Window decorations of unfocussed windows don't have a "hover" state
Status:
RESOLVED: WONTFIX

Description Simon Steinbeiss editbugs 2009-04-16 12:39:41 CEST
i just wanted to state that even though window decorations do have a "hover" or "prelight" state now, this is only true for the window in focus and personally i can't see why this makes sense (unless adding a hover-state to inactive windows would bring dramatic performance problems).

quoting from the related (but fixed) previous bugreport (http://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3219):
This is a very pleasing cosmetic effect, and would be cool to have.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Hover curser over window decoration button

Actual Results:
Nothing happens

Expected Results:
Button pixmap should change

Well, Metacity (and surely others) implements this, and I don't like it much. Quite frankly I am not really interested in implementing that (though it is trivial, all the work would have to come from the theme designers).

that's a pity. is there any specific reason why you wouldn't like to see this in xfwm4?
(since it's really about whether the themes implement it in the end it wouldn't be too much of a loss, would it?)
