Hey again :) currently xfpm only knows that the user wants his screen dimmed after X seconds, but not to which level. "The darkest" sounds like the correct answer, and that perfectly works on my Thinkpad X31, but on my iBook "the darkest" means "off" which is quite annoying and can kill the backlight too soon :( So again something for the advanced tab :)

Also please attach here the output of lshal.

lshal is attached, running beta2 the problem still exists. and yes, both of your solutions would fix it, but I'd prefer the complete custom one
