Keep in mind that I'm using NetworkManager, which automatically switches between my Ethernet and wireless (UMTS) Internet connections when necessary. Provided that my Ethernet connection is activated when logging into Xfce v4.6, the "Weather Update" panel plugin works well. However, it fails if my Ethernet cable is instead unplugged, even if my wireless connection is activated. When I (re)activate either of these connections while this panel plugin is displaying "No Data", nothing happens. When I right-click and choose 'Properties', my CPU usage maximises after clicking that dialog's 'Close' button and I have to restart the panel. When it's working properly, I regularly choose to view the forecast by left-clicking on the icon. Currently, the 'Summary' tab is always shown by default and I must click on the 'Forecast' tab to see a pictorial representation. Since I only ever use the 'Forecast' tab, I'm hoping that it can be made the default in future releases of this panel plugin.
It's probably related to bug #4118.
(In reply to comment #1) > It's probably related to bug #4118. I noticed that you recently added a new patch to fix Bug 4118. In which release of Xfce will it be present? I'll let you know if it fixes the problem I'm facing.
Right now we're in the process of giving Colin a svn account so he can continue maintaining the weather plugin. When that is finished, he will most likely commit this patch soon ;-).
Re-assigning to Colin Leroy who is the new maintainer of the plugin.
This should be fixed in SVN r7548.
I've just installed and tested "Weather Update" v0.6.3. I'm pleased to report that this bug appears to be fixed. Also, thanks for defaulting to the 'Forecast' tab.
