I have my music set up thusly:

/home/Music/
/home/Music/mp3
/home/Music/mp3-orig
/home/Music/mp3-vq

for my mp3 files.

I am on Gentoo.

The Folders are owned by my user, and the group ownership is "audio" with "rw" permission; all others are "ro" read-only.

I can't get the Thunar Shares Plugin to work.

I followed the directions to the letter for Non-Xubuntu Linux OS'es, to no avail.

Here is the error I am given:

'net usershare' returned error 255: net usershare add: cannot convert name "Everyone" to a SID. The connection was refused. Maybe smbd is not running.

However, smbd IS running?!?! I'm past my technical expertise with this.

Check that your Samba daemons are running (nmbd and smbd)

Check again your user privileges (groups).

Run 'testparm' to check your Samba config.

And if the error still persist, please tell me what Samba version are you using.
