This bug has been reported on Ubuntu Launchpad as:
  https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/330095

Binary package hint: xfce4-settings

Using package xfce4-settings (4.5.99.1-0ubuntu1) in xubuntu jaunty 9.04 development version. To reproduce this bug, go to Applications > Settings > Settings Editor.

Select xfce4-settings-manager from the left-hand panel section, and then edit the window width. Click save, then click Revert. The menu item will disappear after you are given a confirmation prompt.

If you open Applications > Settings > Xfce4 Settings Manager, and then go back to the settings editor, the value reappears, but the desired value is that the value should not disappear in the first place.

I don't seem to be able to reproduce using 4.5.99.1 on debian. What are you calling “the window item” which is supposed to disappear after the confirmation prompt?

Oh, nah, fine, ok. I found it.
But sure it should disappear, since you reset it to an inexistent value.

Thanks for the response. I have a question, though. What are valid values? Since any value here fails.
Comment 4 Yves-Alexis Perez editbugs 2009-02-22 16:12:17 CET
Just use whatever integer? I don't get your question.
Comment 5 charlie-tca 2009-02-22 20:13:35 CET
You stated that it would disappear because it was set to a "inexistent value". It does not matter what value is used, it disappears. I am unable to find a value, integer, or other number that does not make it disappear.
Comment 6 Yves-Alexis Perez editbugs 2009-02-22 20:32:36 CET
Well, if you click on “reset”, it'll return to the default, that's all
Comment 7 Stephan Arts editbugs 2009-02-22 23:08:05 CET
Yves-Alexis is right.

Reset will reset the property to the system-default. If there is no system-default, it will disappear.

The only bug is that you can not recreate it with the editor (lacking feature).
