when inserting a dual layer dvd-r, hal mounts it fine, but it does not show up in the thunar side pane, making it bothersome to unmount.

HAL is no longer under development, and I expect most users have switched to udisks by now (though am unsure about what various BSD OSs use). Could someone please replicate this issue with udisks, so we know if it still exists?
