Created attachment 2103 before click If I have more than one button in the task list they have wrong lengths. The buttons shrink if I click on any of them. This only happens if I set the panel to autohide. To trigger the bug just do something in any window while the panel with the task list is hidden. Then show the panel. Switching to a different window while the task list is hidden works, too. Some things which may help: - If I click on the button of the active window, the mouse click will get accounted against the button sizes/positions before the shrink and the window will hide. - If I click on the button of an inactive window, the mouse click will get accounted against the button sizes/positions after the shrink. If this would hit the active window, it won't get set to hidden.

The task list still behaves that way in version 4.6.0 (Xubuntu 9.04). I noticed that the buttons also shrink if I switch to another desktop.
I was about to log this, this bugs me SOOOOOOOO much. I always "miss" clicking a window in the task list because as soon as you click, it shrinks. The only two workarounds for this non-autohide (not acceptable) or make it a little smaller so the tasks aren't two-high (<50 high) but that's kinda annoying too, I like getting more in there because I oven have a lot of windows open. Hopefully someone can sort this out so the task list items don't randomly resize all the time. Sure, if it runs out of room with the current list and you add another window, resizing them smaller so more fits makes sense, but when it's not full they resize in and out.
Me too. xfce4-panel 4.6.1-0~ppa1~hardy1 (from https://launchpad.net/~jerome-guelfucci/+archive/ppa Hardy repository) on ubuntu 8.04.3. If I had found a voting system here I would give this one maximum votes.
xfce4-panel-4.6.1-3ubuntu2 in Xubuntu 9.10 still has this bug.
This is actually a bug in libwnck, but will be fixed with the up comming 4.8 panel.
Devel branch has been merged in master. A 4.7.0 release will follow soon. If you think this bug is not fixed? Feel free to reopen the bug.
