Good day,

I am not sure if its bug of Thunar or not, but I found no answer anywhere... I have tried looking in Google, posting this question in Ubuntu Forum, but still no answer. So, I thought maybe here I could find an answer to this problem :

If I double click on any document (.txt, .png etc.) to open it, thunar opens it in background, so I have to click on the document to see it in front of me. I found this annoying, is there any way to make thunar open any files like nautilus does?

Video files opens correctly, after double-clicking - video starts playing in front of me.

Thunar 0.9.0

Ubuntu 8.10

Regards, Dom

P.S. I enclose attachment of the test document that I have tried to open double-clicking it and, as you can see, the document stays at the very bottom of the screen.

I'm pretty confident that this is a bug in the text editor and image viewer you are using. Have you tried to open these files with different applications?

Thank you for your reply.

Well I think you are right, but still I have some doubts. These are the apps what I have tried:

Opening .png with these apps still the same happens, opens in background:

“GpicView Image Viewer”

“Image Viewer” (Default Ubuntu)

“Gimp Image Editor”

Only when opening .png with “F-Spot photo viewer” opens correctly.

Talking about .txt files, I have only tested with default “text editor” and with “Open Office Word Processor”, still the same – opens in background.

Like I have mentioned before, Nautilus opens all .png and .txt files with each apps correctly. Is there any ideas that I can do or there are nothing to do about that?

Thank you,

Regards,
Dom
