This is something I've been missing for a long time. Basically, I would like to see a configurable hotkey option for raising/displaying/hiding all the windows of the notes plugin.

It is there already: xfce4-popup-notes (--help).

Well "there", bind it inside the keyboard settings manually.

I think it would be great to have some kind of link to xfce4-keyboard-settings in the plugin properties dialog for 4.6 or later. I could imagine another section "Keyboard shortcut" in the properties dialog with a button to enter a shortcut. Once the shortcut has been entered you could just store a binding for xfce4-popup-notes in the /xfce4-keyboard-shortcuts channel in xfconf and xfce4-settings-helper would pick that one up.

But maybe we should wait with that until after 4.6 so that we have some time to move the shortcut grab dialog into libxfce4ui or something. Otherwise you'd have to copy it from libxfcegui4/libxfce4kbd-private which doesn't make much sense IMHO.
