Created attachment 1988 Shows the menuicon in tray. with Xfce 4.6 beta2 sometimes the menu plugins appears in the systray and the place where it's supposed to be remains empty. It sounds impossible but see the attached screenshot. Loging out and in fixes it most of the time. I don't see a way to reliable reproduce it.
I've had difficulties with this bug, though usually it's the System Load Monitor that gets moved. I'm using Ubuntu, package versions: xfce4-panel: 4.6.0-1ubuntu1 xfce4-systemload-plugin: 1:0.4.2-1ubuntu3 This happens randomly, just like for Mark. However, the plugin doesn't get drawn, an empty space shows up, which gets removed if I kill the offending plugin (as it's an external plugin as opposed to external). Funny thing is, this also happened to me under version 4.4, and the volume control plugin at the time had that problem as well. This time, when the plugin shows up in the system tray, my .xsession-errors file reports the following two lines (in order): (xfce4-panel:3496): xfce4-panel-WARNING **: xfce4-panel is not running xfdesktop[3494]: starting up I can post the full .xsession-errors file if you want it.
Do you still have this problem? Looks like an (old?) glitch in the new csw gtk code.
(In reply to comment #2) > Do you still have this problem? Looks like an (old?) glitch in the new csw gtk > code. I didn't see it since the final 4.6.0 release (or even longer) at least. So for me it seems to be fixed.
