It's not necessary to install it, just run the executable from the source directory after issuing: [xarchiver]$ ./configure --prefix=/usr;make then you issue: [xarchiver]$ src/xarchiver and please tell me the outcome.
Just tested with 0.5.0rc1 and it's the same. :/ It doesn't work
