It currently sometimes recognizes them as text files, sometimes as html files, sometimes as something texmacs can use (because I alread opened it with it?)...

A TeXmacs file is pretty easy to recognize : it starts with a line like :
<TeXmacs|1.0.6.15>

(the second part is the version...)

How can I make them known to thunar (with a texmacs icon and opening with texmacs by default)?

I was asked on irc to run "file" on a few texmacs files to see what it gave.

I tried in a directory with three texmacs documents : "file" always tells "TeXmacs document text"... but thunar shows as a "strange file", a text file and an html file... so three different kinds of files!
