I'm running xfdesktop 4.6 Alpha (Pinkie)

I was trying to include the Debian xdg menu in xfce menu files (using MergeFile, which is not yet implement as I understand it?), so I edited it (/etc/xdg/menus/xfce-applications.menu), added some separator etc.

But those changes weren't applied to the current desktop menu until I run xfdesktop -reload.

I build xfdesktop with libthunar-vfs-1-dev and force --enable-desktop-menu-dir-monitor just to be sure.

If you need more info, pleas ask :)

Cheers,

Hmm, I disabled the file monitor portion of libxfce4menu for some reason, though I don't quite remember why.

Since Brian CC'd me, here's what I can say about it: the last status I know is that monitoring works perfectly. Hence I have no idea what the reasons for disabling that feature might have been, Brian ;)

Brian, any news on this?
Comment 4 Jannis Pohlmann editbugs 2009-02-22 13:22:44 CET
Fixed in revision 29497 of libxfce4menu:

	* NEWS: Update NEWS.
	* libxfce4menu/xfce-menu.c: Add directory of .menu files and all
	  directory dirs to the monitor when directory monitoring is enabled.
	  This fixes the menu not being regenerated when e.g. the file
	  xfce-applicatons.menu is altered. Reported by Radomir Dopieralski.
