For windows there are the options "focus on click" and "focus on mouseover".
It would be nice, if there would be an "focus on mouseover" for the windowlist, that you can hover over an "window button" and the window is opened. Much like window preview known from Windows Vista or other OSes, but instead of preview an open window.
