User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.0.1) Gecko/2008072820 Firefox/3.0.1 Build Identifier: When using the quicklauncher plugin on a secondary X screen, the applications open on the primary X screen, not the X screen on which the panel resides. The "Launcher" plugin successfully launches on the same X screen where the panel resides. Attempting to specify the screen to use through something like "DISPLAY=:0.1 foo" does not work. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: With a xfce4-panel running on a "second" X screen: 1. Add quicklauncher to the panel. 2. Add a new command to the quicklauncher such as "xfce4-terminal" 3. Click on the new command's icon. Actual Results: The application is opened on the primary X screen. Expected Results: The appliaction should have opened on the X screen containing the panel. The workaround is to use the "Launcher" plugin to launch applications, rather than the "Quicklauncher" The panel in general will "flip-flop" between the X screens when opening dialogs and windows. That is, if the panel is on the second X screen, it seems some things will open on the "correct" X screen, and some will open on the "primary" X screen.
Ubuntu has a patch for this: http://patches.ubuntu.com/x/xfce4-quicklauncher-plugin/extracted/01_fix-multiscreen.patch
I've applied the patch, but when trying to commit, I get this error: svn: Commit failed (details follow): svn: Can't open activity db :(
