Description Martin Rödlach 2008-08-21 10:33:57 CEST
XFCE Setting: "Desktop Icons : Minimized Application Icons" !!!

Tested Systems:
- X86 Pentium 4 with opensuse 10.2
- X86 Core2Duo with opensuse 11.0 (and the latest fixes, especially xfce)

Problem ist reproducable with all XFCE Versions that I tested in the last 18 month.

When I start a X-Terminal Session in iconified state it will not show up on the desktop.

For example: xterm -iconic

The Terminal Window is running and is correctly registered in the Task List (in brackets as it should be when it is in "iconified" state).
But the problem is : there is no coresponding icon on the desktop.
When I maximize the Terminal with a click on the Task-List-Entry it raises up - then I minimize it and the icon is now positioned in the upper left corner. From that point on it works smoothly. But when You log out and start the xfce desk again all Icons on the FIRST Virtual Desktops are gone. The applications are still in the task list - but You'll have to raise every single Application and minimize it again.
The next problem here ist that the icon positions are not remembered.
This behaviour ist a similar symptom to the Bug #2940.
