If you right-click the menu icon on the panel, you get a context menu which includes an item 'edit menu'. Clicking this will open up a window which allows for you to edit the xfce applications menu. Does this help?
(In reply to comment #3) The context 'edit menu' option dissapeared a few months ago. I know the option was available (in 4.2.x?). Now on (Sabayon) Xfce 4.6.1 it is not there and neither in the settings menu.
Indeed the 4.6.x as of yet do not have a GUI menu editor. This bug concerned 4.4.x which had a GUI menu editor. Also the configuration of the menu has been changed structurally. There is a guide to assist you with writing a new menu configuration, which lives @ http://wiki.xfce.org/howto/customize-menu
This bug should probably be closed with 'resolved: worksforme' as this bug explicitly regards the 4.4 branch. Also, it's now been almost a year since it was reported with no real activity.
True enough. 4.8 will work with the 'alacarte' menu editor.
