Hi, I've been using medit and Mousepad for about a year and love them dearly. Would love to see Mousepad incorporate a sub or super set of medit's features.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Currently the developer is at: muntyan@tamu.edu and it is a one-man affair, but as it incorporates syntax higlighting and Python features (which is Xfce's scripting language of choice, I thought it might be a good idea to implement some of these features as plugins for Mousepad. Please let me know if you like or hate this idea. Oh and keep up the good work!!! Mousepad is prettier than gedit hands down!

If you don't like the idea is there a way to patch medit to get that sweet little red/magenta bar that pops up in Thunar and Mousepad which warns you that you're using the root account??? Like I don't know, Xfce-ify or Xfce-ificate medit to be a part of the general Xfce "family" of apps like Xarchiver which is platform agnostic but a nice fit?

This bug makes no sence. Medit != Mousepad, and Mousepad won't have syntax highlighting. It's a simple editor, not and IDE.

And who told you python is the Xfce scripting language of choice...
